Our Trip to Reno
Not too many people know we went on a trip to Reno, NV last weekend for fun! Is Reno that fun? No, we just had never been to a lot of places that way and thought we needed to see what it was all about. So we left on Friday evening and stayed in a little town called Beatty, NV that night. ![]()
They had a neat Ghost Town close by that we visited the next mourning before driving through Death Valley. Death Valley was pretty and the sand domes were too, but we thought there would be more so we didn't take pictures or get out and walk on them, whoops! We were in too big of a hurry to get to Yosemite. Well, we made it to the road we are suppose to take to Yosemite, but March is still Winter and the road is closed until late April or May. So we sadly weren't able to go there. ![]()
We continued driving North and we made it to Lake Tahoe, which was very pretty, but we didn't know what to do there and it was very cold, so we jumped out took a picture and went on to Carson City (Nevada's State Capital). ![]()
In Carson City we saw the Governor's Mansion (which was all decorated for Easter), we played at the Children's Museum, and drove around down town to see some Carson City history (this was something Danny was interested in). We stayed in a nice hotel and went bowling to make the trip a little more fun for the kids. The next day was Sunday, so we went to a ward there in Carson City and then drove to Virginia City which was another Ghost Town where in the 1850's, 400 million dollars of gold was found. ![]()
The town is now a tourist place to visit.

We then drove to Reno, we weren't too sure what to see here either. We saw the temple and state line and saw that Reno looks a lot like ID we were a little surprised, I guess we thought it would look more like Vegas, but it didn't at all.
On our way home Monday we drove through some smaller towns we've heard of, but never been through like Fallon! It's great to say I've been to all these places now! Our big adventure happened on our way home on Monday. After we passed Walker Lake we were headed towards Tonopah and we saw there were still three cities on the map we would be going through before getting to Tonopah. When we arrived at the second city and saw there were no gas services (there wasn't any in the little town before either) our car was already on empty. We decided to just keep driving and see if we could make it to the next town, we made it! But there were again NO SERVICES! We still had about 20 miles to go before Tonopah and our gas light was on! So we just kept driving and were happy to see Tonopah about 6 miles away when our car finally couldn't go any further! I was still very impressed we made it that far. I just told Danny to hitch hike in to town and try to hitch hike back. These workers/drillers picked Danny up brought him to town and drove him all the way back, we tried tipping them, but they wouldn't take it. We felt very blessed, they were great guys!
Our trip was more driving and seeing than anything, but we had a lot of fun and I was proud of the kids for traveling so well! They just enjoyed staying in a different hotel every night. And there favorite was in the 1 star motel in Beatty that was actually a mobile home made into a hotel. It's so nice how little ones are so easily pleased!

Happy Birthday Hanna
I'm a little late; Hanna turned 3 on Friday, March 7th 2008! We had a princess party for her on Friday with all the other little princesses and knights and a family party on Sunday, so we had a busy weekend! This is at the family party on Sunday. Danny's brother Jeff's birthday is the 6th of March so we sang Happy Birthday to Hanna and Uncle Jeff.

Jenny's Horrible No Good Morning!
Yes, another night wide awake! I'm not sure how long I stayed in bed tonight before I got up, at least an hour and a half. So I'll post about my horrible day "yesterday."
My poor husband Danny often has a lot on his mind, (a very nice way to put it). His car has been broken for two months now and so we've been sharing one vehicle (so basically, I haven't had a car). Yesterday, I talked to him at 8:30 a.m....
Me: Danny, could you pick us up at 9:15 so I could workout.
Danny: I'll be able to at 9:30 because I've got to run something to Cheyenne and then I'll be there.
Me: Then can I use the car until 11:30, because after working out Hanna has gymnastics from 10:30-11:15, I'll be home at 11:30.
Danny: Ya, that will be fine. I was thinking about going to racquetball at 11:00, but that's fine.
So at 9:30 I called and asked where he was and he was at the bank across town and wouldn't be home until 10:30. I reminded him of our conversation that I would be using the car from 9:30-11:30, and he said we didn't even talk about a time. Ah! I sometimes go a little crazy with his forgetfulness, especially when he insists that I'm making the whole thing up!
Anyway, he picked us up at 10:30 (so we were already late to Hanna's gymnastics and it was her first day going and first time without me in the room with her. I wanted to be there early.) I'm happy we made it and Hanna did such a good job! After her gymnastics, I was driving down a school zone road and forgot about the speed limit. Vegas, is very strict at school zones and the speed limit during the whole school hours is 15 miles per hour. I was changing a C.D. for the kids and looked up to see a motorcycle cop right in front of me. I slammed on my brakes of course, but his sirens were already on for me to pull over. He gave me a ticket! This is only my second ticket ever, last time I was 16! I was going 33 m.p.h. and because it was double the speed limit I got a recluse driving ticket! My sister-in-law told me a ticket in a school zone is $100. each mile over the speed limit ($1800.) I really hope that's not true or that there is something I can do about it!
Right when I got home I locked our keys in the car (our only car key)! It's only March and we've already used up all of the years AAA uses! Luckily, my sister-in-law let me use her AAA card.
After that my day was much better!

"Pregnant, Twins"
Well, it's 3:40 a.m. and I am up another night with insomnia. I get insomnia during my first trimester and it makes me crazy, I've been awake since 1:00 a.m. Hopefully after this post I'll fall to sleep!
Max has been telling everyone that I'm pregnant with twins...
Last week at Disneyland anytime a worker talked to us Max would say, "That's Hanna, I'm Max, that's Jenny, pregnant, twins, that's..." When we were about to see Mickey Mouse the worker commented on Hanna's princess dress and Max pointed right at me and said, "Pregnant, twins!"
My friend Melissa came to town last week and before she came over I told Max that she has two 7 year old girls and they're twins. Then Max with the cutest little face said, "We gotta tell them the news."
We went to the hotel to visit Melissa and her family and while walking through the casino a security guard said, "You have your hands full." And Max said, "Pregnant, twins." The security guard must have only heard twins because he looked at Van and Hanna wondering how they could be twins, so I said, "I'm pregnant with twins." And his mouth dropped and he said, "Oh! Oh!"
The other thing Max has been telling people is that him and daddy are going to be really busy and they are going to have a lot of work to do when the twins come.
This is so true; my poor baby boy. He seems to still be excited about the whole thing anyway.
