Fall Festival

We had a fun time at the Carnival this year. It's so expensive that I usually just buy enough tickets for the kids to go on 2 rides, but this year Hanna bought her own full day pass and Max lucked out and got a free pass on our way in and both of their passes came with free adult passes. Max and Hanna went on the "big kid" rides for the first time. I guess it makes it easy going on those rides with help from friends; especially when one of those friends is a cute girl that one might have a crush on. Danny went with Max on the Ring of Fire, which is a roller coaster that goes in a circle and stops at the top.  Ya, Danny was sick the rest of the night. When a person gets car sick they should know they can't go on rides like that one:) I took the little kids on the Ferris Wheel and almost had a panic attack! We only went around once and then I asked to get us off that thing. I didn't realize how afraid of heights I was. I guess I'm getting too old!
Here is a pic. from the Ferris Wheel that my friend took, since I was to afraid to look up.

Max with his friend Avalyn :)

Hanna with her good friend Briley.
Saturday at the parade. Van took the pic. for us and Max and Hanna were at their cousins.
My camera ran out of batteries right after this shot, darn it.

Good-bye Johnson's

Another good friend moved. Man it makes it hard to want to stay in a not so pretty town when friends move away.
Daisy and Walt's good friend Jacie moved to ID. We are so happy they will be going where they want to be, but so sad to loose another good family.
Saying goodbye to Brittany and her cute kids.

Clark 7 Months Old

You are such a happy baby boy!
Clark is sitting up now and has 2 bottom teeth. He rolls every where, which has sadly caused him to roll off the bed 4 times now. (Only one of those times were on my watch). I brought him with me to Time Out For Women last weekend and he was so good. Walt said to me last week, "I don't want him to get bigger". I assured him we will be having more babies, but he still wasn't okay with this cute little guy growing up. We all just love that contagious giggle of his, tasty cheeks and sweet little smile. We love you so much Clarky!

It's Soccer Time

I am coaching Hanna's team again. The Thunder Cats.
Hanna scored her first goal yesterday!
Max is being trained as Keeper.

Van is great at defense! When the other team is going down to score
he runs super fast and slide kicks the ball out of there. I love soccer season!

So Proud of This Boy

I had a mom call me and tell me thank you for raising such a good boy. She said, Van has been the talk of their household. Her son Matthew had been crying everyday not wanting to go to school, but today he told his mom, “I’ll be okay, because Van will be there.” Van saw the boy crying the first day of school and at recess Van told him don’t cry, I will play with you and you will be happy. Van didn’t know the boy before Kindergarten.

Van is the type of person that doesn't like anyone sad. If someone is sad Van is the one to do something kind or silly to make them laugh or feel better. In the passed when I have gotten upset at one of the other children Van is there saying just hold her mommy. Van is such a caring little boy and we are blessed by his example. We are so proud of you Van!

*I posted this on FB and got over 80 likes and quite a few comments. Here is dad's comment...
"This was one of the happiest days of my life. Knowing my son did this made all the trials of life worth it. Van, I wish I was more like you. I love you."

First Day of Pre-K

I can't believe Daisy and Walt are in my Pre-K class this year.
First day of school for me as well. Teaching a 2-day preschool and 4-day Pre-K again.

Ward Boundary Changes

Danny was released last Sunday Aug. 26, 2012 as Bishop in the Manse Springs Ward. He served as Bishop for 2 and a half years and as 2nd Councilor in the Bishopric for the year prior. We had a 3 ward boundary change which moved us to the Charleston Park Ward. Danny was fine with the release, but we were both sad to leave our beloved Manse Springs Ward. He was released at the 3 ward meeting last week after church and so I felt like I was just ripped from our ward without saying good-bye and more importantly without getting the chance to thank the members for their love, support, service and the many prayers rendered on our behalf. All week I was feeling uneasy about the whole thing, then Friday I realized this Sunday would be testimony meeting and I decided after attending my "new" ward in the morning I would have time to run over to my "old" ward and share my testimony. I felt the need to thank them for all they had done for our family as Danny served as Bishop in the ward. I was able to do that today. I just really wanted the members in the Manse Springs Ward to know how grateful we truly were to have been apart of their ward and how blessed we were because of them. The Manse Springs Ward will always hold a special place in my heart, they will be remembered as my ward family.
We attended our new ward today and we all felt so welcomed. Danny has already been called as the Teacher/Priest Adviser. (I think he was hoping for a longer vacation:) But he is excited to serve in the Young Men program. My biggest concern were the children, but they too seemed to have a good day. I am excited to get to know the members of the Charleston Park Ward and be able to learn and grow even more.
